What is
Model United Nations?
Model United Nations (MUN) is an educational simulation of the United Nations where students and young people represent countries, debate global issues, negotiate, and develop solutions.
Through MUN, participants build skills in diplomacy, public speaking, critical thinking, leadership, and teamwork.

A Global Movement
MUN is practiced by students and young people worldwide, with conferences organized by schools, universities, and organizations across numerous countries. Hundreds of thousands participate each year.
Its educational value has also been recognized by the United Nations General Assembly, which adopted Resolution A/RES/77/336 in 2023, recognizing MUN’s role in engaging young people with the UN and promoting international cooperation.

MUN in the Philippines
MUN in the Philippines has been growing since 1998, with students from all levels forming more than 45 clubs and organizations nationwide.

How Does MUN Work?
Participants are assigned a country and a committee and represent their country's interests during discussions. They:
Research their country's policies and the issues being discussed
Debate and present their country's position
Negotiate and build consensus with other delegates
Collaborate to develop proposals and draft resolutions
Vote or reach agreement according to the conference's rules
MUN is more than a public-speaking competition. Delegates must listen, understand different perspectives, build compromise, and find solutions.
Who Can Participate?
MUN is open to people from different educational backgrounds and experience levels—from high school and university students to young professionals. You don't need to be a future diplomat to participate.
Whether you're interested in international affairs, law, business, development, or simply want to become a better communicator, MUN provides an opportunity to learn, collaborate, and engage with the world.
Start your MUN journey and become part of a growing community of young people shaping conversations about our world.
